Methodology

GovCon Directory uses USAspending.gov API v2 as the canonical source for ingested federal contract spending records. Pages are generated from database-backed aggregations, not live API calls during normal rendering.

Contract-only scope

V1 includes only USAspending procurement award type codes A, B, C, and D. Grants, loans, direct payments, other financial assistance, individual award pages, county pages, and congressional district pages are excluded.

• B: Purchase Order
• C: Delivery Order
• D: Definitive Contract

Fiscal years

Fiscal years follow the federal fiscal calendar, running from October 1 through September 30. FY2026 is partial while the fiscal year is in progress, so totals may change as agencies publish and correct records.

Update cadence

The intended production cadence is nightly ETL into Postgres, followed by refreshed materialized views and ISR page regeneration. Public pages disclose the latest ingested data timestamp.

Why figures may change

Award records can be modified after publication, and agency reporting can include corrections, de-obligations, late submissions, or classification changes.
